PENNY BASE

Prior to Corinthian figures hitting the shelves, the sales team travelled the country speaking to prospective stockists.

 

 

The sales team were armed with literature which detailed the up coming range of figures, accompanied by samples of the figures, these are referred to as Penny Base figures, reason being the base is the same size as a 1 penny coin.

The 4 players are Andy Cole, David Platt, Peter Beardsley and Matt Le Tissier, with each figure being produced with 2 different paint finishes, Matt and Glossy. These figures provided a physical aid to potential stockists, whilst also gave the sales team invaluable feedback on the figures appearance.

The 'MATT' finish figures bore the most resemblance to the eventual released figures and certainly looked both better quality and more life like than the GLOSS version.
