MONACO

Corinthian released 4 figures for Monaco as part of the Super Champions range.

This was a split release of 2 new figures and 2 repaints, with Thierry Henry having already been released for France and John Collins featuring in the SFL Collection in the kit of Celtic. However with the Henry being a 12 pack exclusive, this Monaco blister release gave collector's a much easier chance to obtain such a nice sculpt.

All 4 were released as single blister packs with collector cards and came with collector's information file. There was also a 4 figure pack but it did not actually contain all 4 Monaco figures! Collins was not in the pack, it was instead goal keeper Fabien Barthez, however the Barthez figure was the France national kit one.

I can only presume the reasons for this happening. It could have been a lack of produciton time to get Barthez painted into a Monaco kit, a lack of Collins figures to include in the 4 pack production so he had to be replaced, or perhaps it was a factory error, the only thing which is certain is that Barthez is not in Monaco kit, it is exactly the same as the France national kit figure.

2 other Monaco figures were planned but sadly cancelled, those 2 being a re paint of Japhet N'Doram and also Enzo Scifo.
